​That is sadly true.  Not all TV's correctly report their supported
resolutions to the Raspberry Pi and of course the Raspberry Pi by default
if no resolutions are detected will default to 1080P.  At least mine have
lol.  So might be worth going into the configuration file and forcing it to
startup at 1280x720P just in case.

Reason I know this is I have a older Samsung TV that is 720P, but reports
to all devices I try connecting to it as 1080P and can't see anything
clearly on it lol.​
