What are the symptoms of the ADOS-3 ROM no longer working?  Does the
machine come up in Extended Basic?  Hang up when you power on?  If it
is either of these symptoms, I'd try both reseating the ROM chip
(remove and plug in again, being sure not to bend any pins under), and
cleaning the disk controller's edge connector with a pencil eraser or
some such.  I'll bet one or the other cures the problem.

If you do not have a hard drive, ADOS-3 should continue to serve you
well. Extended ADOS-3 (which requires an EPROM with 16K capacity
rather than 8K), also freely available, should be even better.
