Paulo, I thought of asking him to go ahead and commit what he has, but the main problem is his project is in the middle of a lot of changes in how the whole source set is structured. To commit that unfinished, would be a disaster. Someone would try to build it (then complain) and that's impossible until he finishes his changes. Any changes one would make to the current commited sources would be redundant, as they would have to be reworked to match the style of the new (uncommited) sources. As you see, it left the whole thing in limbo. He just got too busy with work right in the middle of his conversions and could not get back to it. I received an email that he should be back at it soon as work is finally slowing down for him.
What is being done is that all the various code sections (6809, 6309, gimme etc) are being moved into their own sections. Each section of the code will be "stand-alone", needing no support from the others. In the end, we hope to make it possible to just "plug" the sections together to create a Coco. The all that has to be done is to write the sections needed for the Coco 1 & 2, plus the Dragon 64. In this way, VCC can expand to cover all forms of the Coco by writing the sections needed for that model. It will also make it easier to add enhancements.
After all this is done, there are plans to convert the code to another format (away from C/C++) that's easier to compile as cross-platform.
If you want to play around with the current code, the best bet would be with the "VCC-1.200b" branch, as that is the current release (working). The "Master" branch is working, but the "Becker" module fails in that set.
Anything you come up with would be considered for the next commit when it's finished.
Take a look at the "issues" page, there's some stuff there that needs to be addressed as well.

Hi BillI cloned the repo. I understand the changes are probably too big to commitsmall chunks of code so I guess I will be waiting. On the other hand, things like this are way better handled if we keep a separated branch withthe big changes so more people can pitch in and help. Maybe the guy makingthe big changes could manage to find some time to submit whatever he has?CheersPauloOn Sat, Jun 11, 2016 at 9:34 PM, Bill Pierce via Coco <coco at maltedmedia.com>wrote:> Paulo, you are welcome to join the group.
