If it's any help, here's what the Orch-90 manual at
https://archive.org/stream/Orchestra-90_Manual_1983_Jon_Bokelman/Orchestra-90_Manual_1983_Jon_Bokelman_djvu.txt

says about Error 7:

Err 7:

FILE I/O ERROR

The host operating system reported an I/O or other error during
the last file operation.

READ or GET: File not found.

WRITE: Disk or directory full.

READ, WRITE, GET, or DIR: Unrecoverable I/O error.

DIR: Invalid device number.

I'm wondering if the file name(s) you are using are in the format that is
expected.
Maybe you need to specify an extension? Are the files you are attempting
to save ones you created? If not, they may be in a non-CoCo Orch-90
format. Maybe you are trying to save a source file as binary, or vice
versa?
