I guess I'll crack this open (voiding my warranty!) and take a look.  I'm 
guessing I'm not going to find a bulging capacitor just yet.  That'd be too 
easy.

Anytime I pick up a soldering iron the worst case scenario looms above me 
like the sword of Damocles.  But I have worked on a few TVs.  A couple of 
them successfully. :)
