Hard Drive Specialists was in Houston, if I recall. A friend of mine, that I converted from her Commodore 128 to a CoCo 3, got one of their floppy controllers. It had an issue, so we drove down there (2 hours from Lufkin, TX) and met with them and they fixed us right up. I wish I could remember who I met with -- he was real nice, and said they didn't really do much with the CoCo -- it was just an excuse to go to Rainbowfests and have fun.

Did Hard Drive Specialists ever actually make a hard drive controller for the CoCo?

Very interesting. I plan to be getting a SCS2SD to try on my MM/1. I guess it's time to look up SASI and see how it evolved.
