I see. It's just that it has a buzzy sound to it so I assumed it was

Are you varying the amplitude of the waves of is it pulse width modulated?

When I think of 6-bit sound, I think more along the lines of this...

It's on a CoCo3 running at 1.78Hz with 4 channels but a 2 channel scaled 
down version for CoCo2 could be done.
