The TTL input on the 1084S (and the Magnavox 8CM515) is for a PC, the
original PC color monitor... CGA (took me a minute to recall that!). You
want the RGB input for the CoCo. There is also a 1080 monitor. The "S"
is for "stereo" -- the 1084S has two speakers built in with inputs. The
Commodore 1070, 1080, 1081, 1081S, 1083S, any of the 1084 models (there
were a few!), 1085, 1942, 1950, and 2002 will also work, as will just
about any monitor used for the Amiga. The Amiga (and those Commodore
monitors) use analog RGB, as does the CoCo. I know the 1084 just needs a
cable, no sync flipper of combiner, to work with the CoCo. Just connect
like pins.
You can find descriptions and pin-outs for most of these here:

The six pin analog RGB connector (round DIN plug) seems to be the same
for all that use it. Some used a 9 pin D-sub connector and a switch to
go between RGBi and RGBa (digital/analog), but the 1084S uses two
different round DIN connectors, an 8 pin digital and 6 pin analog.
