Sounds like more of a project than what I want to get into. I do appreciate you offering though, thanks!

I attempted to repair the traces along the extruding connector with the Radio Shack trace pen repair. It worked for a while but intermittently had issues. When I replaced the keyboard, the keyboard I received had a wrong key on it for some reason...like someone had lost a key and popped on another but it was the wrong one, so I pulled it off and swapped for the correct key with the flaky keyboard. If you had a keyboard that was beyond repair but had decent looking keys you could pop one off and replace it. It's just the "W" key if I remember correctly.

Hi Chad,

Is it salvageable in your opinion? Also, what do you mean about the incorrect key?

I have a CoCo 2 keyboard if you are interested but it is NOT in full working condition which is why it's not installed in a unit. There were issues with the circuit traces that I never fully resolved and one key is incorrect.

Hi all,

I recently added a CoCo1 to my collection and I'm not very fond of the chicklet keyboard.

However I have recently learned that all CoCo keyboards are interchangeable, barring the connection style used on some early models. Armed with this new information, does anyone have a melted or full stroke style board that they'd like to part with? I'd rather not buy and gut an otherwise working CoCo if I don't have to.
