Gene, it may have been him alone, but there was a company name and they advertised in all the mags "Computer Sytems Consultants" Sleuth was called "Super Sleuth" (at least in the RSDOS version) and he offered both RSDOS and OS9 versions.

"company" as such, its Professor Bud Pass's work, at the University 
of Georgia
IIRC.
