The only mod I knew of for the Hi-Res interfaces was to switch between regular mode and so it would work with The Rat graphic program from Diecom.  The Rat shipped with a modified interface that only used one plug and the other was cut off.  The switch went back and forth between the 2 modes.

Think the mid was in the Rainbow sometime in 1988.
