is strictly text based, something like the old Delphi system, or an old
BBS? The site could be set up for free e-mail accounts, or e-mail could be
forwarded to an e-mail address at the site, and the site strips it down to
plain text before allowing it to be viewed. That's not exactly the same as
reading regular e-mail from the CoCo, but the site would act as a
pre-processor to make the e-mail CoCo friendly. Then a program to access it
could be written for the CoCo, or have it so that a standard CoCo terminal
program can access it.
There are lots of BBSes running today on the internet and accessible via
telnet (or DriveWire, or other internet modem solutions). They don't get
much traffic but are generally interested to see someone stop by on a coco.
You can use the UUCP suite for OS9 in combinations with DW to create a
message and file transfer network between cocos. A few of us in the coco
IRC channel set up such a network as an experiment a couple years back and
had it working well enough to route things along our three or four node net.
