Nick, I'm not embarrassed at all.... Do some digging in that website.
I think you'll find that front page to be quite misleading and stretching the truth quite a bit.
Most of those screenshots were from a soupped up fpga (or something similar) running a highly modified emulator with capabilities that the original machines never had.. First, most of those machines nor their cpus was capable of doing what they are stating.
Let's see... memory bank switching up to 1024k, multple windows, up to 63k per process,,,,,
Hmm.... sounds really, really familiar.... The GUI looks a lot like...hmmmm......
Me thinks they were looking at another very familiar OS when they started this...
A bunch of overlayed windows showing "blinkies" and a "wallpaper" background (of a picture we have in our Coco library by the way) on screens at a resolution none of those machines were even capable of (hardware or software wise) really doesn't impress me.
OS-9 can already do almost everything they claim and has been doing it since the early 90s.... and faster!
It's just that no one had seen a "Windows 98" or "Windows XP" desktop and screen layout and had not conceived that kind of GUI yet. The people in the Coco community that had vision were heading in that direction when the Coco was dropped by Tandy. A lot of our "in house geniuses" lost heart and all hope and went on to other things... Bigger and better things.
They left us a hodge podge of unfinished, uncommented, and sometimes (most times) source-less pieces of beginnings of what could have been. We (the Coco community) have spent the last 25 years trying to sort it out and make something useful from all the pieces parts... fused....
Out of this has come the current NitrOS-9 and to be honest, the current version is one of the best and smoothest I've seen yet.
So... I feel it's time to finaly move on and put NitrOS-9 to work instead of working on NitrOS-9 !!!
As for that fancy GUI.... Just wait for it.... it's coming... real soon....

Must I do everything?! :)
I'm not into OS-9. Tried several times and gave up in frustration.
If I was, I would have done something but whenever I get bogged down trying
to fix and patch problems just to make the darn thing work reliably, I lose
interest to use it for creating anything.
It's embarrassing to see an Amstrad CPC running a multi-tasking OS with a
full multi-window GUI using a Z-80 CPU and then... running OS-9 on a CoCo
with Multi-Vue!!
Is the source for multi-vue available?
