Blame TV.  American Pickers.  Pawn Stars. Antique Roadshow.  These
shows are convincing people that all the junk they have is real and
valuable so that now they expect to get a fortune for stuff they
threw in the trash just a few years ago. (Saw an ad in the local
PaperShop yesterday for a common Winchester lever action rifle.
Guy wanted $2600 for it!!  Real value is likely to be much nearer
to $260, if even that.)
