I'm in agreement. and I wasn't there, but would've loved to get stuff.
If you want to proxy bid on someone else's behalf, then do it as if you're buying it, but do NOT impact the auction or it's flow.
No chat windows, texting, emails, calls. Either pee or get off the pot.
Attendees spent money, time, and gas to be there, and it's unfair to them.

In a nut shell, if any one wants to act as a proxy, go ahead. Just do so on your own in a transparent manner, assuming all responsibility, and leave the club out of it. They do enough getting all these great items to the auction. This is my final comment on this topic. Happy CoCoing one and all!
