[Coco] XRoar Windows 8 64-Bit

Luis,
I'm running Windows Vista 64 bit and the 64 bit binaries seem to be working for me. I assume you're referring to the ones at the link Ciaran posted earlier. What emulation are you trying to run? (Coco 2, dragon 64 etc.). Do you have the roms in the work directory? did you set the cmd line / config setting for the machine you want? The manual is very helpful in getting all the settings right.
Ciaran told me he only cross-assembled the Windows binaries and relied on others for reports as he doesn't have a Windows machine. He runs a Mac.

The black screen sounds odd because if all else fails and XRoar starts in "no rom" mode, it will display a "checker board" (green/red) screen much like you use to see after crashing  a Coco 2 ML game. I know Ciaran has updated the latest version for proper PAL emulation so I don't know if he changed the default "checker board" screen. It took me a while to figure out all the settings I needed to get everything going properly, but once I did, the Coo 2 ran flawlessly.

I have XRoar running with the Becker port active giving me access to Drivewire and currently run NitrOS-9 L1 with 4 floppies and 4 x 120 meg VHDs. I have 2 boots, one with 51 column graphics screen and one with 32 column VDG screen (less memory use for C & asm). I also run HDBDOS so I can run Lyra and have DW Midi. The Coco 2 has never had it so good :-)

I hope to soon start working with the Dragon emulations as I've never owned a Dragon but I hope to soon get a Tano Dragon 64 and play with it. I'm currently looking for some documentation on the ML programming differences fo the Coco 2 and Dragon 64 to convert Lyra to run on Dragon. I know the keys need to be remapped but Idon't know what if anything else needs to be reworked.

If all else fails, email Ciaran, he has been VERY helpful in getting my setup going and is always open for suggestions. He's already added a couple of the things I have suggested, one being PC mouse input for joysticks.

I just downloaded the windows-64 bit binary, and tried to run XROAR, but
all I get is a black screen/windows.  I am running Windows 8 64-bit.
