It turned out that Brendan ran into an issue with the newest Android
4.2, where the "am" command does not behave as in earlier releases. I
still haven't found a way to use the "am" command there (tried --user
option with various arguments).

On the other hand, my newest 0.29.5-2 registers itself as a viewer for
.cas .wav .rom files. So you can select the file in any
file manager and "view" it using XRoar.

For a good file manager on Android I can recommend Ultra Explorer:
