[Coco] Had again

Well, wouldn't ya , know it? I finally figured out how to get a couple of
drives, and the one that costs the most, is the dud! It's a Radio Shack Mini
Disk (unopened) with no label. The controller is a 26-3029 (also
unopened-the seals are in place.)

 

Attached to the Coco 1, I tried a couple of used disks in it, and it reads
and writes without a problem. I put in a new unformatted disk, and type
DSKINI0, and the light comes on, it clicks and whirrs a little, then nothing
but "interference" on the TV screen. It doesn't even IO out.

 

I'm hoping it's something very simple, but I don't know. Can't tell if it's
the Coco, the controller, or the drive itself.

 

Ideas?
