Bob,
That user's system was built with the scripts. So if you are getting an error 207 something is really wrong.
Been awhile since I read the read.me file in the root.....
The floppy boot script of course takes the longest to build. Due to it is an emergency boot, not a minimal boot.
The hard boot script, about 30 seconds to build.
The HDB boot is the same as the hard boot except for the boot track. So if the hard boot works and the path to the HDB boot is good, it will work. To test the hard boot, just reset to HDBDOS, type 'F' at menu...with disk in drive 0 type DOS
Not sure how many know the process but once a good hard boot is created, test it first! Then run the hdb script, it makes a SSDD floppy 35T.
Reset back to HDB-DOS, from the menu press 'F' Now if you don't want to overwrite your current boot, till it is verified and we will use DRIVE 254 as an example BLANK HDB-DOS disk.....
VERIFYON
BACKUP 0 to 254 'make sure you have the HDB-DOS disk that was created with the scripts in drive 0
once done....
RUN"LINK:4
DOS 254
If that works then you can then overwrite DRIVE 255 if you would like......
Pretty simple....
There are ways of doing this without a floppy but there are issues that need to be resolved, and is best to keep it simple and walk first. Others have explained the issues here before.
Now as far as CDF not working, last I saw from Chris was, he replicated the issue. My Emails to Chris must be going to the bit bucket as he has not answered my personal messages to him or he is mad at me... :) Not likely.....
Again the scripts were used to add CDF to the common distro from C9 and used to build that system, all worked. CDF was not checked out at that time but was checked at an earlier time and CDF did work at one time. So Chris will have to resolve that!
Anyone that builds without the scripts are making changes on the fly, can be done, don't recommend it, scripts always work, once working.
Now if corruption has occurred, then anyone's guess. DCHECK, etc...I was told at one point that the CF was removed with power applied.....NOT good!
Regards,
Mark

Bill,
I'll have to pull you up on this one.
Philip's descriptor is /hd, not /dd. It should work fine alongside the other
descriptors.
Other comments regardsing merging the driver and descriptor may help it to
work, but placing it in the OS9Boot will be the best. However, it is still
possible for that to fail. I'm working with another user trying to set up a
working OS9Boot for his SuperIDE with CDF. Currently the boot fails with a
"W" at the last; which IIRC means ERROR 207 - Memory full.
