[Coco] Problem with Disto Super Controller

This controller works in a CoCo 2 but not a CoCo3. I tried with a not 
upgraded gray multi pak and a White upgraded multi pak. Nether one has 
the open screen come up. Just small orange and black squares.
The controller in the CoCo 2 displays C-DOC 1.1, but does not have any 
other EPROM installed.
Any ideas why it only works in the COCO 2 and not any where else?
