One (or more?) of the first generation Floppy Disk Controllers used a 
different chip than Radio Shack/Tandy.  That chip set could not work faster 
than 1 MHz.  I'd have to root through the midden heap to find which one I 
have, but I wasted a lot of time figureing that out.  It works fine on a 
CoCo 1 or 2, but chokes on a CoCo 3 and OS-9 Level 2.
