OS-9 for the 6809 and the 680x0 were written in 6809 and 68000 assembly 
language. When Microware wrote a version of the OS-9 mostly in C 
(initially it was called "OS-9000"), the two initial targets were 680x0, 
x >= 2, and the 80x86, x >= 3.
