[Coco] No more dream ports (Was:Wolfenstein 3-D on a 4.77mhz 8088? So, 6809 port, anyone?)

I have to agree with this from a non-technical standpoint. Someone could do
a Wolf 3D-like game as you did for the CoCo 3 with Gate Crashers, but it's
going to be heavily compromised for a variety of reasons. Still impressive,
still a valuable addition to the library, etc., but not really an
equivalent. The most "limited" systems that have run recognizable versions
of Wolf 3D have been the Super NES and Apple IIgs, both of which had
extremely competent ports. Those are still probably far more capable than
the CoCo 3 in many ways, right? With that said, the IIgs does really need
an accelerator to run the game optimally, so even there it couldn't really
run it recognizably/comfortably "stock."

What would be nice from a player's perspective is more games using the Gate
Crasher engine. A port of something like a Blake Stone might be more
realistic and accurate.
