Some quick googling showed that SparkFun used to carry a version of the
breakout board that Atari cart was using; they now carry this device:

$35.00 - and it is SPI (with an interrupt); doesn't look too difficult
to use; you'd probably need to implement the simple level shift as
described in the datasheet. Of course, you'd then have to implement your
own TCP/IP stack and such (not an easy project by any means).
