[Coco] Coco 3 with problems, can anyone help me troubleshoot?

Is there a poke I should try to slow to coco2 speeds and try that? I agree with Mark, I don't think the cassette is the problem, more likely something gone bad on the coco3.
Since cleaning the gime chip, seems like the coco3 has no other problems but this now... Just my dumb luck to buy a cassette for a computer that is working fine except for
the cassette functions! I will be buying a new coco3 (well new to me) as soon I can afford to. BROKE lately. If anyone wants to trade a coco3 for some pc parts or something like
that I'm all ears...

Not to say that it isn't possible that the deck could be bad, it would be the
first in over 100 units.
What is more than likely the problem is a BLOWN SALT chip IC8, on the CASSIN .
You would hear the audio, but wouldn't get the data in this case.

Yes but its a brand new cable. I got this cassette from cloud9, I belive it was
brand new never opened... The cable came with the cassette...
This is a very strange problem I don't recall ever seeing this type of problem
before...
Also tried cable in AUX or MIC as suggested by instructions, same thing happens
both ways...
Tried with volume all the way up, all the way down and in the middle...

Have you checked your cassette cable?
