When I had my MM/1A, I used a keyboard that had a switch on the bottom to select
either AT or XT format.

Hello, Bruce,

Actually, there is a major difference in PROTOCOL between the XT and AT
keyboards. The XT keyboard is a send-only device, and uses 1 start, 8 data 1
stop bits. The AT is a two-way communication device and uses 1 start, 8 data, 1
parity, 1 stop bits. Also, the codes produced are quite different.

Suffice it to say that if I plug an AT keyboard into my MM/1, it ignores it
completely. I believe that the AT keyboard also needs to be sent some sort of
initialisation code.
