Actually, there is a major difference in PROTOCOL between the XT and AT 
keyboards. The XT keyboard is a send-only device, and uses 1 start, 8 data 1 
stop bits. The AT is a two-way communication device and uses 1 start, 8 
data, 1 parity, 1 stop bits. Also, the codes produced are quite different.

Suffice it to say that if I plug an AT keyboard into my MM/1, it ignores it 
completely. I believe that the AT keyboard also needs to be sent some sort 
of initialisation code.
