The controller is not functioning. It is a SCOM 5K repeater controller.
The socketed 63B09 appears to function, fine, all the other pins I get a
nice clean data signal. The microprocessor is connected to an HD6340 via
the pins that are noisy. My original investigation showed that these pins
were low in voltage (i.e. the data pulses were between 0 on 1.2 rather than
the expected 0 to 5). I pulled the HD6340 and the levels when to the
expected 0 to 5, but had this extra noise on it. I was able to obtain a
replacement for the 6340, but now I believe the noise is significant enough
to make the 6340 not function correctly. Additionally last night while
looking at other portions of the circuit I found 3 74HCXXX ICs that had
various outputs that were not functioning at all (i.e. one of 4 OR gates in
one IC has no output even though the inputs are there). I think there must
have been a spike somewhere that caused all of this.
