Willard, (and all the other young folks out there) the UW Physics
Dept was host to an Army Math Research Center, accused by anti-
Vietnam War protesters of research that supported the war effort.
They blew up the building in protest (1970 -- a few months after the
ROTC building at Kent State was burned by the same gang or reasonable
facsimile thereof). No accident.
