that may be true, I don't know.  if you could find a utility for OS9
that just copies sectors the way that BACKUP does, it should work
fine.  alternately, it seems this would be a very simple program to
write.

Something could be wrong with the nightly builds (assuming that's
where you got the disk).  It isn't very common that someone uses L1 on
coco 2.  I don't have one here to try, maybe someone on the list does,
or has a known working disk to share.  Sorry I can't be more help.
