FWIW, I bought two of the ones from California Digital back in 2008
(direct from them, not via eBay).  They were indeed both brand new in
the box and worked fine; I guess they must have acquired a pallet of
them in a warehouse closeout or something.

I don't know who "vintagecomputermuseum" is on eBay, but I routinely
filter them out of my classic computer searches -- for obvious reasons
;)
