Update, my copy of /dd/maxtor/cmds/scred to /dd/cmds/scred apparently failed.  
Doing it again, it sorta worked, but cut the file off in mid-word, so I had 
to hunt around for the quit commend. when I typed exit, it said it was saving 
the file & I thought I had lost 2/3rds of it, but its still ok.

This thing is like a child, it needs a sandbox with very high walls to play 
in I think. ;-)

What did you say was why the helpfile couldn't be posted?
Better yet, go see what the devel manual has to say. BBL, maybe...
