I have a premium account and it seems the speed is not in getting a single file at one time but in multiple files. When I download 1 file at a time sometimes I get 150K/bps but if I download 5 files at once I get 150K/bps per file. Other times I will download 1 file and get 1.2MB/bps but it really depends on which server your downloading from. Also using a download manager that allows multiple chunks download options (I use Down Them All for Firefox) will also boost speed.

The only benefit is that you don't have to wait.
