You're right.  From now on, I'll look at a steak.... the steak will 
look at me.

So many replies, so I'll reply to everybody as one big Thank You for 
the nice words!

When my daughter was about 2 she got a piece of apple stuck in her 
throat.  I tried for over a minute to get it dislodged.  I then ran 
outside of my apartment with her yelled for help.  Hardly a car in 
sight.  She was getting limp.  I ran back inside and kept trying 
until I got the idea to try pushing the apple down with my index 
finger.  The decision was a very hard one.  Luckily, it 
worked.  That's the very short version of another long and upsetting 
2 minutes during a failed Heimlich maneuver.
