What about the possibility of zsync (http://zsync.moria.org.uk/) or rsync 
(http://samba.anu.edu.au/rsync/) access?  I don't know what OS your server 
runs, but those would be very handy for minimizing re-downloads for those 
of us trying to keep our archives current without "hammering" your server.
