Some PC hardware can write the proper disk format directly using a utility 
program.  Personally, I use an SVD (Semi-Virtual Disk) unit to emulate a 
floppy.  You load the disk images to it from a PC under Linux or Windows 
and it pretends to be a physical floppy disk.  The CoCo can boot and/or 
read from it.  You can copy it to an actual floppy easily.
