What exactly are you cleaning? Just a general clean of the PCBA surface 
won't do a lot...

You need to remove the socketed chips and clean the pins, and the sockets if 
you can. Also paramount are the card-edge connectors on either end of the 
board. Anything else is little more than cosmetic...
