With all the midwest flooding and dry areas elsewhere, maybe a pipeline 
isn't such a bad idea! You'd need a two-way pump -- pump it "up" during 
hurricane season and "down" during spring floods. We need one ruin over 
this way too (mid SC) -- for the last three years it's been dry and hot 
from mid June to mid September. Drought conditions in a lot of the 
south-east still prevail.
