[Coco] coco3 Keyboard trouble

My brother Paul wants to set up a 128K coco3 that has been setting in a
box for at least 8 years
I checked the keyboard and get real weird results. 
when I strike S   I see   SU on the screen

                     C            CE
                     M           KM
                     /              /G
                     ?             +?=
                      E            CE
                      U            SU
                      3             35
                       5            35

MOST OF THE OTHER KEYS ARE OK
