It really depends on what you want to accomplish or do. I find that if I
want something done quickly, I use Python. (Actually, I'm finding I like
Python for everything else as well...) But, I also like to use C (I'm
slowly learning C++ and Java) for other things where I think the
language does a better job.
So, for learning purposes (+ everything else, really) I'd go with Python
or C / C++.
