Evidently he could not generate enough sales to stay in business or he has changed his
company name. There is not a large comercial demand for 6309/6809 core to either go
into an ASIC or a FPGA. These CPUs have long been replaced in the market with other
microcontrollers that have more functionality integrated within. In today's market there is
very little need for a stand alone MPU with no other functions. The MC68HC12 line of
processors now have a similar function of the 6809 MPU with far more peripherals
integraged into the chip. HC12 line has the same indexing modes and many of the 6809
instructions are very similar to the HC12. The one thing that HC12 line lacks is the
second stack pointer.
The 6809/6309 MPU has a devoted and use primarily in retro computer markets like this
one.
