That will be pin 8, the cartridge interrupt pin.
The reasoning was if an interrupt occurred, and the slot switch on the MPI 
was not pointed to the cartridge which caused it. the interrupt would be 
missed. By strapping them all together, no interrupts are missed. This is 
only of concern with RS232 communications IIRC.
