No. Spectravideo was a computer company that may or may not have actualy been 
American owned, but was apparently the only "American" company to sell MSX 
computers. They were made in Hong Kong. MSX (MicroSoft eXtended) was a 
Japanese standard based on MS-DOS. The same company also sold the Bondwell 
brand of CP/M computers in Europe, including the Bonwell Model 2, AFAIK the 
only standard CP/M computer that was a battery operated clamshell laptop, 
possibly the best laptop ever made.

The Spectravideo 738 X'press has 64k(?), MSX Basic, RS-232, parralell, 
composite and RGB or SCART video, and a built-in 3.5" 360k floppy drive. It's 
semi-portable like the Apple IIc.

MSX-DOS and Disk Basic 2.0 are supposed to be identical to MS-DOS and GW-Basic 
3.2, but DOS only takes 8k instead of 48k and Basic takes 16k instead of 84k.

The MSX 2.0 upgade for the SVI 738 would be quite a project, but well worth 
it.
