I haven't tested things exhaustively, but it seemed like Disk BASIC
itself was OK.

Ahh!  I've never seen LOGO, I didn't know it did that.

I does.  Sounds like the only programs likely to ignore the fact that
those granules are marked used are a handful of programs already known
for their habit of wiping out disks. ;-)
