Hi Andrew,
This is actually beyond my original design scope, but I like the ideas here. I'd prefer to stay away from USB, due to the additional components -- good old RS-232 would be easier to implement.
If this unit is given a small amount of memory and a uC, it could keep track of the contents of the 6809's registers by decoding & processing the instructions in the same way as the 6809 (as they relate to changing the values in the registers). AFAIK, this would be the most transparent way to "peek" at the registers without interrupting the execution cycle. I'll put it on the proposed feature list for now, but I don't want to make any promises. My time is limited at the moment.

It is currently live and is hosting my revised CoCo3 schematic. (Take a look if you haven't yet -- it's a lot easier to read than what I've seen floating around on the internet!) I have details of a few projects I'm pondering at the moment, and I'll post more information as I can.> > > > Have a peek:> > http://www.iit.edu/~sopktyg/coco3main.html> > > > I hope the disclaimer doesn't scare anyone... > > > > Ty> > --> Coco mailing list> Coco at maltedmedia.com> http://five.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/coco
