Thanks for the information. Based upon your responses and queries:

(1) The hardware is working corretcly. Correct voltages to the drives. 
DS0/DS1 jumpered correctly. Both drives spin regardless of which drive 
is selected. Only selected drive "moves the head".

(2) Dcheck shows:
$0168 bytes in allocation map
1 sector per cluster
$000B40 total sector on media
Sector $000B is start of root directory of FD
$000B sector used for Id, allocation map & root directory
4 directories
90 files

(3) Ident of OS9boot shows (in order):
KenP2, IOMan, Init, RBF, rb1773, DD, D0, D1, SCF VTIO, keydrv
snddrv, joydrv, CoWin, Term, W, W1, W6, W7, Pipeman, Piper, Pipe
Clock, Clock2, SysGo

(4) Shell and grfdrv are in the CMDS directory

(5) sysgo is in the 'root' directory

(6) Ident of all three files shows things are "normal" (module crc is 
good, permission are --e-rewr, and they are either prog or system 
modules, 6809 obj, re-en and R/O

(7) The boot-up seqence on the screen shows (in order):
Krel, Boot, Krn, tb0..........bkrnP2, IOMan, Init, RBF, rb1773,
DD, DO, D1, SCF, VTIO, keydrv, snddrv, joydrv, cowin, term, w, w1,
w6, w7, Pipeman, Piper, Pipe, CLock, CLock2, SysGo and finally i2xto 
(the 'c' never appears) and this is where the system hangs.

(8) And the same thing happens using MESS version 0.116

Any ideas??????
