Ahh! Now we are making some progress! Thanks for being specific Willard.

There is a bug in the 6809 NitrOS-9 v3.2.6 which is not in the 6309 
version. In fact, the bug is still present in the current source code 
for the next release, v3.2.7.

I don't know whether I can find the source of the bug but will make a 
bug report and try to resolve it. The binary code for both 6809 and 6309 
versions is generated from a single source, selected by conditional 
statements. That has caused some problems.

I invite any interested parties to browse the code at

or even obtain a copy of the source. The more eyes trying to solve this, 
the higher the chances for success.
