I used to use VED all the time, and remember enjoying using it.  It's
been a while since I did much text editing on a CoCo though.  (I'd
better come up with an excuse to remedy that...)  Just looking on my
bookshelf, the manual for VPRINT is the thick one -- that's where all
the fiddly formatting details live.  IIRC, VED and VPRINT bear a strong
resemblance to the Telewriter series of word processors, since Bob Van
der Poel had a hand in those as well.  So having used TW-64 and TW-128
extensively, when I started using OS-9 and got VED/VPRINT I felt right
at home.

I believe I did use VED to edit some C source, specifically my PIX2TGA
and VEF2TGA programs, and I think it worked well for me, though my
memories of the actual writing of those programs is getting a little
fuzzy.  I believe I even got the 68K versions of VED/VPRINT and used
them on the MM/1.

VED isn't going to be an MS-Notepad clone, but IMHO, it's much easier to
learn and use than the editor that comes with OS-9.
