Yeah, I'm sure the condensation from thawing, both inside and outside the HD would play havoc with the drive electronics, not to mention the platters and R/W heads inside...

Briza, DO NOT FREEZE YOUR DRIVE! I researched this about a year or so 
ago and it can cause (or lead to) all sort of other troubles that will 
definitely thrash your data, not to mention the hardware in the drive.
