I'll need to test the latest release of NitrOS-9 to see if I can 
reproduce your problem. In the mean time, is there an reason why you 
want to boot into a vdg (32 column) term? It is just as easy to create a 
vdg window as it is to create a W window.

Since you can boot with rel80 and term80, do so. Then create a vdg 
window in W1 as follows.
xmode /w1 par=1 pag=1 pau=1
